Seemingly Motionless

Male and female wood ducks, seemingly motionless and at rest.

At least, I think these are wood ducks. Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Enjoying some time at Kensington Metropark in Milford, Michigan.

Watchful Eye of an Eagle

Watchful Eye of an Eagle

With freedom to roam the skies, a pair of bald eagles have made their residence of choice Carillon Historical Park in Dayton, Ohio for the last few years. Since Dayton was also home to Orville and Wilbur Wright, the eagles have been appropriately named Orv and Willa.

The image above was taken one day last month while spending a few days in Dayton. Unsure if this is Willa or Orv keeping an eye on things close to their nest with a growing family of three eaglets this year.

Sound of Pecking

Great Marsh – Indiana Dunes National Park 3.22.21

As I turned toward the sound of pecking, a downy woodpecker (I think) made quite an impression while it paused from moving quickly sideways and down a tree.
