Swirling in the Garden – Plumeria

Normally found in Mexico, Central America, Hawaii, and the Caribbean, the cold climate of the Midwest is much too cold for plumeria to survive. Unless, it is cared for indoors as in Chicago’s Garfield Park Conservatory. This one seems to be enjoying the indoor warmth of the conservatory, whether winter or summer.

  1. I’ve only recently realized that plumeria is called frangipani in my part of the world – this is such a lovely specimen!
