One of my favorite get-aways is taking the train into Chicago and spending a couple of nights in the center of downtown. Love getting up before sunrise to walk down the streets without the busyness of traffic and crowds. Staying at one of the hotels along the riverwalk provides the perfect window views of the first light of day and also artificial lights shining across the skyline.
Spent the morning at Chicago’s Garfield Conservatory. I was greeted by a kaleidoscope of color from the tiles on the Zellij Fountain and continued throughout the different gardens. What a perfect place for macro photography!
Normally found in Mexico, Central America, Hawaii, and the Caribbean, the cold climate of the Midwest is much too cold for plumeria to survive. Unless, it is cared for indoors as in Chicago’s Garfield Park Conservatory. This one seems to be enjoying the indoor warmth of the conservatory, whether winter or summer.
