Morning Reflections – Looking at the world upside down from three different locations. First one was captured on a misty morning at Coffee Creek Watershed Preserve in Valparaiso, Indiana. Autumn brought out the beauty of bare trees at Gabis Arboretum at Purdue NW on the second shot. Last, ripples of reflections on the Great Marsh – Indiana Dunes National Park.
My favorite spot on the Pinhook Trail of the Indiana Dunes National Park is standing on the bridge, looking across this scene. This is right about halfway into the loop trail and the spot that I still look forward to getting to. As many times as I’ve been here, the setting is the same but the backdrop changes continuosly depending on the light. Sometimes there are birds in the water and other times not. Reflections too are there on sunny days but not so much on gray days. Beauty is one thing that is consistent. Fall, winter, spring, or summer, beauty can be found along the trails.
Five scenes from one morning on one trail on the Indiana Dunes National Park. Enjoyed the quietness of Central Beach earlier this week before moving on to the sandy trails through the greenness of the forest. After a couple of days of rainfall, the wildflowers were taking in the sunshine and so was I.
After waking up to 19˚F this morning, I couldn’t help thinking back to the desert warmth of California enjoyed in December 2017. Waiting patiently for the forecasted temps in the 60s here in the Midwest and lots of sunshine by Sunday. Just a couple more days!
