Sense of Foreboding

One might think that being out before sunrise on a foggy morning might create a sense of apprehension or foreboding.

Sense of Foreboding

Quite the opposite is the case for me. The assurance of the sun rising and breaking though the fog is one thing that has not failed yet.

The Calming Sky

The Calming Sky at Sunrise

“It’s not just my imagination. Looking at the sky, the clouds, the moon,
and the stars really does make me feel calm and hopeful.
It’s much better medicine than valerian or bromide.
Nature makes me feel humble and ready to face every blow with courage.”

The World is a Canvas

The world is a canvas for photographers even when that backdrop may be close to your own backyard. For me, that canvas is often the Indiana Dunes National Park. The image above was captured on one of my mornings at the Indiana Dunes National Park. This is Lakeview Beach on the shores of Lake Michigan.

Foggy days are ideal for watching the sunrise at Coffee Creek Watershed Preserve. If you enjoy mornings of quiet peacefulness and beauty, this is the perfect place to start your day.
